Sensory-Friendly Performance

Ovation Performing Arts is offering a sensory-friendly performance of Matilda Jr. on Saturday, April 12th to provide a supportive and welcoming environment that will make live theatre accessible to those with sensory sensitivities and their families.

What is a Sensory-Friendly Performance?

At this Sensory-Friendly Performance, accommodations will include:

• Guide house light on at a low level throughout the performance.
• Audience members are welcome to stand, move around, and enter and leave the theatre as needed.
• An Activities Area with coloring pages for engagement.
• Designated quiet and calm space outside of the theater.
• A Performer Guide with pictures identifying each character in the show posted in the hallway.
• Audience members are welcome to bring their own manipulatives, seat cushions, comfort objects, headphones, electronics, and other support items to the show. Please do not bring food into the theater.
• All strobe light effects removed.
